A link which claims to point to a video of the death of Osama bin Laden has been spread virally across Facebook on 2^nd may 2011, just hours after the death of the Al Qaeda leader.

The messages, posed as updates on Facebook users' walls, claim to point to banned video footage of Osama bin Laden's death: -

Exclusive BANNED VDEIO footage of Osama Bin Laden being killed!!!

(In the screenshots used throughout this article we have obscured the image as some may find it disturbing).

Clicking on the link takes you to a Facebook page which urges you to like and share the link with your Facebook friends, before you can watch the "shocking" footage: -

However, sharing the link with others just helps spread it further across the social network, and instead of a shocking video you are instead presented with an all-too-familiar survey which you are told you must complete before you can go any further.

The scammers earn money every time a survey is completed, and that's why they want you to share the link with others.

So, this is one example of Coca cola promo. Many people read this type of mail specially newbie’s, believe that they won £500, 000, 00GBP & send own personal detail to Social Engineer hacker. That is a tricks Social Engineer hacker use & you become victims would not even realize that because social engineers exploit the natural tendency of a person to trust their word.

Now, Form the above example social engineer hacker know the weakest point of your brain to gain your personal information without making a computer security holes.

Beware of Phishing attacks , Be Careful Income Tax Department Email

Now a days the cyber criminals/hackers are using different ways and tactics of cyber crimes and hacking your bank account. Please beware of all these scam e-mails / phishing attacks which are hitting to your mailbox daily. These are all scam/fraudulent e-mails sent by bank account hackers which are asking you to put your bank account details to claim the Income Tax Refund.

The genuine Income Tax Department Website is www.incometaxindia.gov.in  but when you click to the link you are redirecting to the website which is fraudulent Income Tax Website which is created by cyber criminals/hackers.

The page you will get where you have to update your bank account information to claim the refund is redirecting to your bank website where it asking you to put your online banking user name and password or card number, bank account details, Credit card CVV number & ATM PIN etc. If you put your online banking detail then within a second your all banking information is share with cyber criminals / hackers & you will be easily hacked by the cyber criminals/hackers. After sometimes or even same day you will be in trouble with your bank account.

Note: - If you are learning then this is one of the best example of phishing  & Social Engineering attack.

NOW LET’S SEE EMAIL: -

Today I received an e-mail from “information@incometaxindia.gov.in” which was fake and had a HTML attachment with a link to a phishing site to gather all the personal information and hack into bank accounts.

The above is one of the mails you may receive in your mail box which will redirect you to the below page..BEWARE…

In the Tax Refund Online Form – all fields were compulsory to be filled – like card number, bank account details, Credit card CVV number & ATM PIN etc

Fake DHL Delivery emails contain Trojan

Two days ago I got mail from DHL Global supportletter2@dhl.com saying that

“Dear customer

The parcel was sent your home address
And it will arrive within 10 business days

More information and the tracking number
are attached in document below.

Thank You

© 1994-2011 DHL.S Express Services, Inc.”

Now, point is we all know DHL express is very popular company for shipping worldwide. So, when I saw mail from DHL Global then I read and confused because in my knowledge not any parcel come to me. So, to check detail I download that attached document.

But I surprised when download completed I saw windows firewall detected that file as a virus called “Trojan”.

Then I remove that file quickly.

Will this Social Engineer hacking trick is little bit surprised to me because its new tricks to hack & I trust this email because I saw mail come from “@dhl.com” domain but its fake email contain “Trojan”. Will this is the one of the best example of “Social Engineering – Art of Manipulation”.

SO, when u see email from DHL Global supportletter2@dhl.com or joinmess@dhl.com & saying that “the tracking number are attached in document below.” then delete that mail without download as soon as possible. These kinds of fake emails from courier services, these messages come with .zip attachments which will infect your computer with a Trojan, keylogger or spyware once downloaded. The attachment this time is called DHL.zip. Do not download it. Instead, DELETE IT IMMEDIATELY.

If you really have a package coming from DHL, UPS or FedEx and you receive an email like this, better call up your courier and confirm your package with them. It's better that way.

·        Login to your web panel and manage your settings.

·        Save your Settings.

How Prey working: -

·        If your laptop stolen by someone, go to web panel and change the laptop status to missing

·        Select report timing, operating system (Eg. Timing – 5 min) and add webcam in modules.

·        Save your all setting s and check mail after 5 min.

·        Prey will try to hook onto the nearest open Wifi hotspot when no internet connection is found, prey automatically communicate with web panel and check your status in panel. If panel showing missing status software automatically start working in your laptop. It will take details of your laptop like opened software details, network details, screen shot and take a picture of the thief with your laptops webcam so you know what he looks like and where he’s  hiding and send to your email id already configured in this software. Pray also hide your Outlook or Thunderbird data from thief.
